Early Wednesday morning thunderstorms soak parts of SC

ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) -

Some Rock Hill residents woke up to the sound of heavy rain, loud thunder claps and the sight of plenty lightning strikes, Wednesday morning.

Heavy rain and lightning rolled it around 2:30 Wednesday morning.

After an hour the rain stopped, but picked back up around 4:30 with more downpours and more lightning strikes.

WBTV got in touch with City of Rock Hill and York County officials and we were told there was no weather related damage in the area.

There was one case of damage overnight in Lancaster County when a home in the 17000 of Laurelmont Court in Indian Land was struck by lightning, but it caused very little damage.

Some parts of our South Carolina viewing area is under a flash flood watch until midnight, Thursday.
