Weather ALERT: Rain now could get severe later

Good morning! Today is Monday, April 28 and it's going to be a busy few days, especially for the team in our First Alert Weather department. This is Christine Nelson. Here is a quick heads up on what we'll be covering when you watch WBTV News This Morning from 4:30-9 a.m. of WBTV and our sister network Bounce TV.

WEATHER ALERT

You probably heard some of the rain falling overnight while you were sleeping. Most of you will definitely see wet roads when you wake up. There has been a light but steady rainfall, unfortunately it's going to get worse later today. One thing you can count on we have the most experienced team to bring you accurate information on what to expect. Meteorologist Al Conklin is here to let you know what to expect and what to prepare for.

The system that will be hitting the Carolinas turned deadly in North Carolina. An infant child died, making it the first tornado-related death of the year. There were also tornadoes in Arkansas, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma.

You'll want to keep us on all morning. There is a lot to cover and get you caught up on.

~Christine
