Fans buzzing about Bobcats chances before Game 3 tip

Posted: Updated:

Fans started up the hype for the Bobcats just before the Miami Heat arrived in town Friday for Game 3 of the NBA Playoffs in Charlotte.

"It's fun," said Neil Lomax who is in town for the game from South Carolina. "There's a lot of energy out here and the kids are having fun.

Lomax is talking about a Friday afternoon hype party for Bobcats fans and team employees held in front of the arena.

Surrounded by food trucks, listening to music and playing games, fans started getting excited for Saturday's big game.

"First playoff game in Charlotte in a long time, it's just an exciting time," said Matt Carroll, a former player for the Charlotte Bobcats.

Carroll played for the Bobcats for seven seasons and retired from basketball last year. He says for the Bobcats to win they have to be playing in front of their fans.

"I think coming back home, having our home crowd, our home city is going to give us the best chance we have to beat this Miami Heat team," said Carroll.

And he's not along thinking that way.

"As long as they don't give up, get down on their selves they have a good opportunity," said Lomax.

Now it's up to the Bobcat players to see if they are able to turn down the Heat Saturday night.

As of Friday afternoon, tickets for the game are still available. Ticketmaster says the prices range from $45 to $575.
