Rantankerous [ran-tank'uhr-us] (adjective) - A combination of rant [to speak in a wild or extravagant manner] and cantankerous [contentious, disagreeable]. The word is the only suitable description for the arguments between Brian "What We Learned" Tynes and George "Hot Reads" Jones.

(RNN) - Some good things happened in Major League Baseball this week, and some other things, well, not so much.

Looking at you Michael Pineda and the Cubs bullpen. If there is one good thing that came from Chicago's meltdown on the 100th anniversary of Wrigley Field, it's that they proved despair is still profitable.

Speaking of disappointing things, if you actually thought any of the good teams in the NBA playoffs would do anything noteworthy - sorry. With few exceptions, the top teams have been a bust, and the icing on the cake was LeBron James nearly getting killed by Charlotte forward Josh McRoberts.

The "nearly getting killed" part is an exaggeration, but so was James' reaction to McRoberts' foul.

And, oh yeah, Northwestern did something slightly important for the future of college sports Friday.
