CLIFTON, OH (FOX19) -

The University of Cincinnati will award a record number of degrees for a spring term class with more than 6,380 degrees.

Undergraduate commencement ceremonies are 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday at UC's Fifth Third Arena. Graduate ceremonies were Friday.

UC says rising enrollment and increased retention are part of the reasons for the higher graduation rates.

The undergraduate commencement speaker is Tebelelo Mazile Seretse, Botswana's ambassador to the United States. She earned a master's degree in economics from UC in 1980.

UC will award honorary degrees to Dave Dillon, chairman of The Kroger Co.'s board of directors and to Washington trial lawyer Billy Martin. Martin is a 1976 graduate of UC's College of Law.
