We'll be live from Charlotte's Steele Creek area...two robbers wearing masks shot a man as he was going into his apartment.  This happened in an area not known for crime.   Police say they're going to step up patrols in the area.

A Caldwell County woman is scheduled to appear in court later today...on charges of murdering her husband.

Early voting begins today!  Primary elections will be held May 6.

A big debate held on the campus of Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte...among candidates vying for the 12th Congressional District seat vacated by Mel Watt.  We'll have a live report on the debate.

Sammi Jo Francis will have your First Alert Traffic this morning to help you get to your destination...and if you're traveling along I-85, it's going to be a lot less congested.  New lanes of I-85 through Cabarrus County are open this morning.
