Nearly a dozen charges for mall attack suspect

Good morning! It's your friendly morning anchor Christine Nelson. Today is Wednesday, April 23. Here is a first look at the stories we're talking about when you turn on WBTV News This Morning.

Raise your hand if you ever shopped at Concord Mills Mall? Most of you probably could so it may come as a surprise to hear about the rampage one man went on, attacking people and damaging property. David Simpson has nearly a dozen charges against him this morning. WBTV's Astrid Martinez has more details on the security in place as the mall tries to make things business as usual today.

You've noticed the political ads on the air the last several months. Especially the ones from the folks wanting to shake things up in U.S. Senator Kay Hagan's district. The GOP candidates who want to unseat her had a spirited debate about key topics that will interest you. Plus, another political debate is set for tonight at Johnson C. Smith University. We'll tell you which candidates will be participating in that one.
