Two men, woman arrested for assaulting, tying up couple in uptown Charlotte robbery

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Two men wanted by police for an armed robbery after they tied up two people were arrested in separate incidents on Monday and Tuesday, Charlotte police say.

Demecho Lipscomb Anderson, 33, is charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, felony breaking and entering, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Dave Alobwede, 27, is charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, felony breaking and entering, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and larceny of a motor vehicle.

Police arrested Anderson and Alobwede for their involvement in an armed robbery on Saturday morning in uptown Charlotte's First Ward neighborhood.

Anderson, along with Dave Alobwede and Anne Alobwede, 25, assaulted and tied up a man and woman at a home in the First Ward section of uptown, police say.

They took the man's bank card and his 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The woman was able to escape and call 911.

Police arrested Anne Alobwede on scene and charged her with first degree kidnapping, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, felony breaking and entering, aiding and abetting felony larceny and communicating threats.

Police tracked down the stolen Jeep on Monday and tried to pull it over but the driver refused.

A vehicle chase ensued and ended on the 1700 block of Statesville when the driver, Anderson, jumped out and ran.

He was taken into custody a short time later.

Dave Alobwede was arrested without incident on Tuesday.
