Police dog needs vest; local Boy Scout hopes to help

SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) - K-9 Officer Zukko works in Rockwell and is handled by Chief High Bost.  Zukko has the natural gifts to do the job, but there's one thing his human friends are hoping to do for him; give him the gift of protection with a bullet proof/stab proof vest.

Local Boy Scout Kyle Roe has made it his mission, and his Eagle Scout project to help Zukko get that vest.

A vest for a police dog can cost between $850 and $1200.

This Saturday there will be a fund raiser bake sale at Grace Lutheran Church, with all proceeds going towards the purchase of the vest.

Anyone wishing to make a contribution can do so by sending a check to Boy Scout Troop 315, 4404 Old Concord Road, Salisbury, or drop them off at Car Clinic.
