NWS: Rain & cool temps Saturday, partly cloudy skies Sunday

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

The National Weather Service (NWS) predicts a 100 percent chance for rain on Saturday for Charlotte.

NWS said Saturday's high will be near 52 degrees with a northeast wind around 15 mph and gusts as high as 26 mph.

NWS said between a quarter and half of an inch of rain is possible during the day.
 
Rain is likely Saturday night before 10 p.m. with a 70 percent chance of precipitation.

Saturday night will be cloudy with the low temperature around 47 and winds around 16 mph.

NWS said the weather changes for Sunday with only a slight chance for rain before 11:00 a.m.

Partly sunny skies are expected with a chance of rain only 20 percent. Temperatures will be in the mid to low 60's on Sunday.

    Prominent Charlotte physician Jonathan Christenbury tested positive for cocaine during a drug screening test in November, the N.C. Medical Board disclosed Friday. Christenbury admitted to ingesting the drug in October to alleviate depression, according to a legal notice filed by the board.
