SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) - An argument over a car led to a disabled 73-year-old woman being beaten at the hands of her own granddaughter, according to a report at the Rowan Sheriff's Office.
A deputy stated in the report that Christel Jazmyne House, 22, had no place to live, so she asked her grandmother if she could move into with her for a short time. The grandmother agreed, and House moved in.
On Wednesday, House asked her grandmother if she could borrow the car. The grandmother, knowing that House had friends in Georgia and because she feared House may be involved in drugs, would not let the woman use the car.
House then became irate, according to the report, throwing clothes around the house and striking her grandmother.
When the deputy arrived he noted blood and bruising on the grandmother's arms. The grandmother told the deputy that when she told House to leave, House screamed at her "F*** you, you old b****, I'm not going nowhere!"
House told the deputy that her grandmother started the physical confrontation when she hit House in the face. The deputy noted no signs of any injuries to House.
House was charged with simple assault on a handicapped person and second degree trespassing. She was jailed under $3000 bond.
The grandmother was treated at the scene by Rowan EMS.
