Report: US Airways employee finds noose on work locker

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A US Airways employee says he felt intimidated after finding a noose hanging from his work locker inside the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

According to a police report, the 56-year-old man found a teal-colored cord tied into a hangman's noose hanging from his locker on Monday morning. He found the noose around 7:05 a.m.

The victim, who WBTV is not identifying, is an African-American man.

He filed a police report with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police. The FBI was notified about the incident, but it is not clear if they are investigating.

US Airways it looking into the incident.

"American Airlines is aware of the incident and we are investigating," spokeswoman Michelle Mohr told WBTV. "We take these matters very seriously."
