Showers, thunderstorms moving into region, bringing allergy relief

Posted: Updated:

Allergy sufferers will see some relief over the 24 hours as a storm system moves across the Carolinas.

WBTV Meteorologist Ashley Batey says scattered showers and thunderstorms will begin moving into the region around 3 p.m. on Monday.

The afternoon high will top out at 76 degrees with winds gusting as high as 24 miles per hour.

Rain showers will pickup overnight with a thunderstorm or two possible, Batey says.

Temperatures will top out at 70 degrees on Tuesday as more than an inch of rain is expected to fall, washing some of that pollen away.

Batey says after the rain moves out Tuesday evening cooler temperatures will remain in place through Friday.
