Police said a Mooresville officer was airlifted after colliding into a storage container behind the Shell Station just after 4:00 a.m. on Saturday.
The officer was heading west on Highway 150 and turned left into the gas station parking lot according to the Mooresville Police Department.
The officer went through the parking lot and hit the storage container, investigators said.
Police said the officer was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
