Police in Charlotte have released the name of the person who was struck and killed by an SUV Tuesday evening in southeast Charlotte, according to officials.
The incident happened just before 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of Idlewild Road and Ware Road.
Officials say 42-year-old Katrina Barringer was driving a Honda Pilot on Idlewild towards WT Harris Boulevard when she struck 66-year-old Lal Ro Mang crossing the road.
Mang was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police say he had been consuming alcohol.
No charges have been filed.
Idlewild Road was shut down between Idlebrook Drive and E. WT Harris Boulevard while emergency crews worked the scene.
