College’s Social Work Department, under the leadership of Chairman Dr. Timothy
C. Okeke, has been reaffirmed for accreditation until 2022 by the Council on
Social Work Education’s Commission on Accreditation.

the addition of three social work courses to Livingstone College’s Evening and
Social Work is
one of the more popular majors at Livingstone, and during 2013 Commencement
Exercises, 19 students obtained bachelor’s degrees in social work. Currently,
the College has 80 students majoring in social work, and several of them are in
the process of obtaining internships at various agencies and organizations in
Salisbury and Rowan County.

Honor Society. To become a member, students must maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA.
And many of Livingstone’s social work graduates go on to obtain master’s
degrees and Ph.D.’s in social work, according to Okeke.
