Spring temps set to arrive in Queen City later today

Posted: Updated:
CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Another cloudy, damp and chilly start Wednesday morning, but don't judge the entire day by what greets you early on, says WBTV Meteorologist Al Conklin.

Clouds will finally break for some sunshine during the afternoon and with that, we'll enjoy a much milder finish, close to 60 degrees.

As a weak front moves overnight, there will be a few clouds around, but rain chances will be low, Conklin says.

Overnight temperatures won't be nearly as cold as recent nights, mainly in the 40s.

A nice warming trend kicks in Thursday - the first day of Spring - with mostly sunny skies all day long and afternoon readings in the upper 60s.

Pleasantly warm weather will continue into the weekend with highs jumping into the lower 70s, but weak front could produce a quick splash and dash shower early Sunday.
