Report: 2-year-old found at scene of meth lab after man ODs

LANCASTER COUNTY, SC (WBTV) -

Police in Lancaster say 42-year-old Scott Veld Duncan has been released from Springs Memorial Hospital after reportedly overdosing on methamphetamine on Wednesday.

According to the Lancaster Police Department, officers responded to a reported overdose a home on Crestfield Drive around 12:04 p.m. on Wednesday. They found Duncan unconscious in the bedroom of the residence before transporting him to the hospital.

Several items associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine were found in the bathroom of the home. The 77-year-old homeowner, 30-year-old Christy Nicole Knight and her two-year-old son, were also found in the residence.

The Lancaster Fire Department verified the presence of a working meth lab and a Hazardous Material Disposal Unit was coordinated to decontaminate the home. Knight and her son were also transported to Springs Hospital for decontamination.

Knight was charged for manufacturing methamphetamine and exposing a child to methamphetamine.

Duncan was also charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, exposing a child to methamphetamine and possession of a sawed-off shotgun.

He and Knight were taken to the Lancaster Detention Center.

The child was placed in the custody of the Department of Social Services.
