CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Police have arrested two men in connection to a fatal shooting in north Charlotte.

The shooting happened on March 8 just after 4:30 a.m. in the 2200 block of Julia Avenue.

Officers responded to the scene and found 30-year-old Dexter Lattimore unresponsive, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Lattimore was pronounced dead at the scene.

On March 11, after receiving an anonymous tip through Crimestoppers, detectives identified 38-year-old Frederick Gales and 53-year-old Wesley Jones as suspects in the murder.

Officers said Gales voluntarily went to police headquarters to speak with detectives. After being interviewed, he was charged with murder and taken to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.

Jones, police said, turned himself in to police overnight Thursday.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call 911 or the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) at (704)336-VCAT.
