CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

WBTV Meteorologist Al Conklin says plenty of sunshine is in our forecast for Thursday, cold northerly breezes will continue to blow, but not nearly as strong as Wednesday night.

Highs for Thursday will be close to 50 degrees in Charlotte, 25 degrees cooler than Wednesday.

Colder afternoon readings Thursday in the 40s for the foothills and 30s for the mountains.

Conklin says it will be clear and cold Thursday night, most communities will fall off into the 20s overnight.

Plenty of sunshine back in the forecast on Friday, afternoon temperatures will rebound to the seasonal low-mid 60s.

Near 70 degree temperatures return for Saturday, but there will be a lot more cloud cover around and perhaps even some rain late in the day.

Rain chances definitely pick up Saturday night and especially for Sunday, with much cooler late weekend temperatures in the low 50s.
