Union County parents donating money to fight redistricting

Posted: Updated:

Union County parents are opening up their checkbooks to fight redistricting.

The parents are pledging pledging money to a non-profit called caps.

The goal of the non-profit is to raise $10,000 by the end of the week, and $175,000 in all.

The money covers legal fees for a lawsuit against redistricting. The target date is to have that suit filed by Wednesday.

Joe Bochicchio is the attorney spear heading the lawsuit.

"We'd love to handle this in an open handed sit at a table sort of fashion," said Bochicchio. "The Board of education seems unwilling to do that so that leaves us no other resort than seek a remedy through the courts."
