A group of local attorneys say they plan to sue the Union County School Board, following a decision earlier this week to redistrict thousands of students.
Charlotte attorney Joe Bochicchio told WBTV on Friday, he and other attorneys are getting ready to file a lawsuit next week.
"My impression of the board of education the way they've handled this matter has been very clandestine and not nearly as transparent as they should have been," he said.
On Tuesday, board members surprised thousands when they voted on a plan to redistrict thousands of students next year.
"Shock, anger and disappointment," Bochicchio said of the board.
Bochicchio and other local attorneys say they'll set up nonprofit organization called Citizens for Adequate Public Schools or CAPS. He says the money will go directly to the legal team suing the board.
"Frankly a lot of families are putting up for sales signs and they're just going to move out of the district," he said.
Bochicchio says he'll establish CAPS before he files the lawsuit.
