DECATUR COUNTY, TN -

(WMC-TV) - Details are surfacing about the man accused of murder in connection with Holly Bobo's disappearance.

A 14 page rap sheet of criminal history reveals Zachary Adams has a history of violent assaults against women, including an assault against his own mother.

On Monday, during an arraignment, the 29-year-old Decatur County man claimed that he's "not the one." However, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation searched Adams' property Friday, February 28. Investigators say they found enough evidence to present their case to a special grand jury, which then handed down an indictment against Adams.

Adams is now charged him with especially aggravated kidnapping and first degree murder.

Most people had not even heard of Zachary Adams until Friday, when TBI began executing search warrants. But he was no stranger to the criminal justice system.

Court documents say that at 19 years old, Adams shot his mother point blank in the knee. He pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and was sentenced to six months in jail. He was allowed to serve that time in rehab.

Adams' stepfather told authorities that they fear for their lives and "he is a danger to the community."

The 29-year-old also has several meth, marijuana, and gun possession charges.

In 2011, just three months after Holly Bobo disappeared, Adams was charged with assault after he threatened to kill Rebecca Earp.

Court documents read that he assaulted her by "gripping her neck and pushing her to the floor." Earp got away, though Adams threatened to shoot her like he did his own mother in 2004.

Adams pleaded guilty to simple assault and was sentenced to 120 days in jail, but was allowed to use time served in the Jack Jean Rehab Shelter.

Just days before being arrested during the investigation on Friday, February 28, Adams bonded out from jail in Benton County where he faces drug charges.
