High Country Crime Stoppers and Appalachian State University Police are asking for the public's assistance in solving and preventing larcenies on campus.
Since the beginning of the spring semester, the ASU Police Department has received four reports of larcenies of cash and App Cards from the Mt. Mitchell Fitness Center locker rooms.
One common factor in the reports, police say, is that the items were left unsecure.
When using the workout facilities on campus, officials ask that you please remember to secure your valuables either in your vehicle. If you use a locker in the locker room, secure it with a lock.
When attending class or other function, do not leave your valuables unattended.
To help keep you safe, police have offered these tips:
Remember to use a lock when using workout facility lockers.
Secure all valuables at all times.
Do not leave valuables unattended.
Report any and all suspicious activity to law enforcement.
Anyone with information about a crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 828-268-6959 / 828-737-0125 or the ASU Police Department at 828-262-2150. You may also report crimes anonymously at http://police.appstate.edu/crime-tip-submission-form. All information will be kept confidential.
High Country Crime Stoppers pays rewards for information, which leads to arrests; recovery of stolen property; seizure of drugs and the location of wanted persons.
