Winter Weather Advisory expires as temps crawl above freezing Tuesday

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

As predicted, temperatures have dropped into the teens and 20s Tuesday morning.

WBTV Meteorologist Al Conklin says bundle up and be careful just in case you encounter an icy patch or two on the roads.

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg issued a Winter Weather Advisory that expired at 9 a.m. for all of the WBTV viewing area in North Carolina.

We'll have some sunshine with temperatures going above freezing, but only headed for the low to mid 40s Tuesday afternoon, Conklin says.

Going forward the next few days will be quiet but chilly, as highs stay well below normal, only in the 40s and 50s and by Thursday, some cold rain may return to the region.

Patience pays off though, as highs will surge back into the upper 60s to near 70 over the weekend.
