Firefighters: House partially collapsed after fire in Mint Hill

MINT HILL, NC (WBTV) -

Emergency crews responded to a house fire in Mint Hill that resulted in a partial collapse of the building.

The Mint Hill Fire Department was called out to the home, which is along the at 6200 block of Eagle Claw Court, around 10:40 a.m. Thursday morning.

The house is a large, single story home and firefighters reported heavy flames at the home.

From WBTV's Sky 3, heavy smoke and flames could be seen coming from the home.

Firefighters reported that a partial collapse happened near the corner of the building and crews evacuated the home.

Officials said that the fire was gas fed, so all firefighters that were inside the home were pulled out.

WBTV was there as the homeowner, who firefighters say was at work at the time of the fire, was brought to the scene to survey the damage.

His wife and daughter are out of the country.
