Wilkes Takes Over at Olympic

WBTV Sports learned today that Keith Wilkes has finally been approved as the new head football coach at Olympic.  He comes to the Trojans after 2 season at Vance High School.

In his 2 years as the Cougars head coach, they went 15-10 including a 9-4 record in 2012 and a 3rd place finish in the MECKA Conference.

He takes over a Olympic program that went 7-5 last season and has not had a losing season since 2007.

Before coming to Vance, Coach Wilkes had tremendous success at Winston-Salem Carver.  In 16 seasons, he won 139 games, claimed 11 conference titles, and won 2 state championships.

Olympic is in the Southern Meck 8 Conference and it could be a very wide open conference race in football after the retirement of Jim Oddo at Charlotte Catholic.
