Former state representative Carolyn Justice elected Vice-Chair of NC GOP

HAMPSTEAD, NC (WECT) - Former state Rep. Carolyn Justice of Pender County is the new Vice-Chair of the North Carolina Republican Party.

Justice, who stepped away from the General Assembly in 2012 after serving ten years in Raleigh, was elected Saturday during a specially-called meeting of the Executive Committee in Concord. The position came open when the previous Vice-Chair, Joyce Krawiec, was appointed to fill the remaining term of state Sen. Peter Brunstetter who resigned in December.

Justice said the Vice-Chair works in hand with the Chairman of the Party, visiting the county parties and soliciting what needs they have and helping them to fulfill their mission.

"I am looking forward to it," Justice said Monday morning. "I think we need to find common goals across the state among the county parties to be successful in November."

"For decades, Carolyn Justice has been a committed and principled conservative leader in our party, and it's a privilege to have her as the new vice chairwoman of the NCGOP," North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Claude Pope said in an email news release. "Carolyn's proven leadership and wealth of public service experience will be enormously beneficial in our efforts to take back Kay Hagan's Senate seat and keep our majorities in the General Assembly."
