Police: Motorcycle test rider takes off, doesn't return

GALLATIN, TN (WSMV) -

Officers are looking for the man accused of stealing a Harley-Davidson motorcycle during a test ride he arranged through Craigslist.

The motorcycle's owner agreed to meet a potential buyer on Wednesday, Gallatin Officer Bill Storment said in an email.

The suspect took the 2005 Harley-Davidson Road Glide out on a ride, and did not return.

Officers believe the suspect arrived in 2004-2005 black GMC Yukon or Denali, but a second suspect who was hiding in the SUV was able to drive off unnoticed.

Similar cases the thefts have been reported in nearby counties, Storment said. Gallatin police investigated a case involving a suspect fitting the same description late last year.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the stolen motorcycle can call police at 615-452-1313.
