WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - UNCW's film studies department has grown greatly over the past few years, and with that growth comes more opportunities for students to show what they've learned.

Film students plan shoots, organize clubs, and even put together whole film festivals…and one of those student-run festivals starts tonight!

The Reel Teal Film Festival is run by students in UNCW's Flicker Film society and Beau Mumford, one of those students and the co-chair of the festival, came to speak to us today about the festival's history, the sort of films you can expect to see, and how they were able to book films from all over the world.

The Festival begins tonight, February 21st, at Lumina Theatre. Films are shown in four blocks starting at 7pm, and admission is free.
