VIDEO: More than 30 displaced after two overnight fires in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Firefighters in Charlotte battled two residential fires early Wednesday morning.

The first fire was reported at 4:29 a.m. on the 6800 block of Arroyo Drive.

Five people were displaced from their home but were not injured, firefighters say.

Firefighters had the fire knocked down in 14 minutes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The second fire was reported a short time later at 4:45 a.m. on the 4700 block of Arching Oak Lane.

Firefighters arrived to see smoke and flames coming from an apartment building.

15 adults and 13 children were displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The American Red Cross is assisting those affected by both fires.
