CHESTER COUNTY, SC (WBTV) -

A Chester Co. Fire Chief and his brother were arrested Saturday night after the two got into a scuffle with investigators at the scene of a vehicle accident on Valentine's Day.

West Chester Volunteer Fire Department Chief Andrew Martin and his brother Thomas Martin were arrested and charged the day after the incident, according to the report from the Chester County Sheriff's Office.

Andrew Martin is charged with third degree assault and battery and disorderly conduct.

Thomas Martin is charged with two counts of third degree assault and battery.

The two began complaining to Chester Co. Sheriff Alex Underwood when he arrived on scene about who was responsible for traffic control while the damaged vehicle was removed from the roadway.

According to the report, that then led into a heated argument about problems with the county's 911 system.

Thomas Martin then pushed Sheriff Underwood and scuffled with a Sheriff's Captain.

Andrew Martin shouted obscenities at deputies and had to be placed in handcuffs when he ignored commands to leave the scene.

The scene was cleared after the two calmed down and left the scene.
