MORGANTON, NC (WBTV) -

The City of Morganton Water Resources workers will cut off water service to the Goodman Lake Road area Thursday, the city announced on Tuesday.

City workers have to repair a valve on a six-inch water line that serves the area, according to the news release from the city of Morganton.

Water service will be shut off at 9:00 am Thursday Feb. 20 and will affect the following roads Goodman Lake Road, Willow Tree Church Road, Roy Caldwell Street, Scenic View Lane, Cam Drive and the Lake Drive subdivision.

Dwain Benton, Water Resources Collection and Distribution Superintendent, said a valve broke during the recent cold weather and has been leaking.

"If the repair proceeds without any problems, water service should be restored by the afternoon," Benton said in the release.
