SNOW Today; High School Shooting Victim Speaks To WBTV

Grab your heavy jacket and your snow boots...we're about to get hit with a winter storm that's going to bring snow and ice to our area.  The snow will begin in the Charlotte area this morning...and Charlotte-Mecklenbug Schools will be dismissing two hours early today.  There are other school closings and delays to tell you about...so be sure to tune in!

We're going to be live to bring you all the winter storm preparations underway.  DOT crews are at the ready right now...we'll tell you what's happening.  We also have an extensive interview with North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory about how the state is handling storm preparations.  In South Carolina...there's a danger of a lot of ice...as much as 3/4 of an inch is possible.

We'll also tell you how this storm is expected to impact other areas of the south...particularly Atlanta, which was paralyzed by the last winter storm to hit.  Major changes have been made to make sure the city is ready when the storm hits.

In other news this morning...we have an exclusive interview with the victim of a shooting at Salisury High School.  And overnight...a suspect in the case was taken into custody.  We'll have much more on the story.

We have new details on a deadly wreck in Rock Hill.  Police say the driver of one vehicle was driving drunk...she is now charged with DUI.  The driver of the second vehicle was killed.

President Barack Obama and French President Francois Hollande meet today at the White House.   Also today, Hollande will thank six Americans for helping liberate France from Nazi German occupation during World War II. He'll present them with the Legion of Honor medal.

The U.S. is fifth in overall medal count at the Winter Olympics after picking up just one medal today.
