GUADALUPE, AZ (CBS5) -

A 22-year-old Guadalupe man was arrested and booked into jail in connection with the shooting death of another man during a fight Friday night.

Ramiro Manuel Garcia faces a possible count of second-degree murder, according to a deputy's statement.

David Paiz Jr., Garcia's uncle, told Maricopa County sheriff's deputies the victim was trying to get into his house in the area of Priest Drive and Baseline Road about 9 p.m. Friday, according to the statement.

Paiz said Garcia and the victim got into an argument. Both men brandished handguns, and Paiz said Garcia fired in self-defense when the victim tried to punch him.

Garcia also told deputies he shot the man in self-defense.

The victim's body was found in the street in front of Paiz's home and shoe prints matching the victim's soles were found in the front yard of Paiz's home, according to deputies.

Deputies found two handguns at the scene.

Paiz and Garcia were taken to a Maricopa County jail facility and interviewed.

Paiz was released and Garcia was taken to the Fourth Avenue Jail and booked on suspicion of second-degree murder. Bond was set at $180,000.
