Police: Toddler shoots infant

Hi everyone, this is Paul Cameron in the WBTV Newsroom.

We're following breaking news in Shelby where authorities say a three year old shot a 17-month-old child. That child now in the hospital.

Governor McCrory is on his way to Eden, NC to inspect Duke Energy's coal ash spill into the Dan River. Here in Charlotte, protestors are calling for Duke Energy to take swift action to clean up the spill that was discovered Sunday.

Come to find out, there's a new strain of norovirus which the CDC says is responsible for making more than 700 cruise passengers ill. The germ was discovered less than two years ago. It's being blamed for outbreaks on several cruise ships.

I bet you've never heard of stealing gasoline without using a siphon or just driving off from the pump.     Nearly 40 people approached the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School (CMS) board at the Tuesday night meeting. They each had one minute to get their point across. The subject was the district's Multiculturalism Policy. Board members voted 7-2 to approve the changes recommended by the policy committee back in October.

    Officials are on the scene after a pedestrian was struck in north Charlotte Tuesday night. The incident occurred in the 1300 block of Sugar Creed Road around 10 p.m. According to reports, it appears to be a hit and run.
