CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Police in Charlotte say they have arrested a man wanted in connection to two armed robberies earlier this month.

Jonathan Shaird, 21, is charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon of a business and two counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, according to the news release from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Police say Shaird robbed the Taco Bell on the 3100 block of Freedom Drive around 10:10 p.m. on Feb. 1. He took money and then jumped into a car driven by someone else.

Investigators also Shaird is the one who robbed the Wendy's on Freedom Drive a short time later. He went inside and demanded money, forcing all the employees into the back of the restaurant before he jumped into a waiting vehicle, according to the release.

Shaird was arrested by police on Feb. 5 and placed in the Mecklenburg County Jail.

Police are still looking for the driver of the car.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
