Police raid two homes on Mildred Avenue

SALISBURY - On Wednesday morning the Salisbury Police Narcotics Unit, with the help of the Special Response Unit, executed drug search warrants on two separate homes on Mildred Avenue.

The first home was 411 Mildred Avenue where police seized  7.5 grams of marijuana, scales, $2965 cash, and two handguns. One of the guns was stolen.

Edward Lee Lyerly, 32, of the Mildred St address was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI (marijuana), possession of  a stolen firearm, possession of drug  paraphernalia and two counts of possession of a firearm by felon. 

He was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond.

Also arrested was Tyrika Denise Jackson, 29, of the same address. She was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a stolen firearm.

Jackson was placed in jail under a $10,000 bond.

The second search warrant was executed at 317 Mildred Ave.  Police seized 1.4 grams of powder cocaine, 3 grams of crack cocaine, 1 gram of marijuana, multiple smoking devices  and $400 cash.

Arrested was Douglas Young, 34.

He was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II (cocaine), possession of drug paraphernalia, and simple possession of schedule VI (marijuana).

He was placed in jail under a $10,000.00 bond.
