Nashville chihuahuas found covered in glue

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Veterinarians are caring for two abandoned chihuahuas found covered in glue at a vacant house in North Nashville.

A landlord discovered the animals and called Metro Animal Control.

The facility caring for the dogs has been unable to wash off the dark blue plumber's glue.

Veterinarians have tried shaving off that glued fur, but had to stop when it became too difficult.

The adhesive is so effective, it will likely take weeks to wear off of the dogs.

Investigators believe this is a case of animal abuse.

The person responsible will face felony charges.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Metro Animal Control.

We are getting a clearer picture now on the timing and arrival of rain for our First Alert Days Monday and Tuesday. We want to emphasize there is no severe weather threat this week, but just don't want anybody to get caught off guard by the heavy rain after such a beautiful weekend.
