Police arrest two people in connection to 7-Eleven robberies in northeast Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Police in Charlotte have arrested two people they say are responsible for two armed robberies.

Tajae Rashawn Robinson, 21, and Devekico Wright, 21, are were arrested on Wednesday, according to the release from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

On Wednesday, at  6:56 a.m., officers responded to the 9000 block of Mallard Creek Road in reference to an armed robbery from the 7-Eleven. 

The two men entered the business and demanded money from the store clerk. 

During the robbery the suspects forced employees and occupants of the store to lie down on the floor, according to the release. 

The suspects then took one of the victim's vehicle keys and left in the victim's vehicle. 

Police say no one at the 7-Eleven was injured. 

Shortly after that, police say the two men entered the 7-Eleven store on the 8100 block of Old Concord Road. 

The suspects pointed a firearm at the clerk and demanded several items. 

Once the suspects took the items, they left the store and left in a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle stolen in the first robbery. 

Police tracked the stolen vehicle to the 9100 block of Exbury Court where they found Robinson and Wright. 

Both suspects were in possession of the stolen vehicle and items taken in the robberies.     

Robinson was charged with seven counts of Kidnapping, six counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny of a motor vehicle, flee and elude in a motor vehicle and resisting arrest. 

Wright was charged with seven counts of kidnapping, six counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and larceny of a motor vehicle.
