Police: Missing autistic man found

Police in Charlotte say a 28-year-old autistic man previously reported missing has been located unharmed.

The incident was reported at the Burger King on the 1500 block of East 4th Street, according to a news release from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

The call for service was reported at 8:58 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014.

The case worker who supervises Jason Alexander through the CAPS program (Community Alternative Programs for Disabled Persons) told police that on the afternoon of Jan. 27, he brought Alexander to the Burger King to get something to eat. 

The case worker said that, after the meal, he left the restaurant first and waited in the car while Alexander used the restroom. 

Alexander did not return to the car, and he could not be located in and around the Burger King.  

Shortly before 6 p.m., police told WBTV Alexander had been located and was unharmed.
