Deputies in Lincoln County uncovered two active meth labs while searching for a missing juvenile.
Deputies went to a home on the 5700 block of Country Lane in Stanley on Sunday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. looking for a missing juvenile for the Cornelius Police Department, according to the news release from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.
When they arrived at the scene investigators were allowed to enter the residence by the homeowner.
Deputies immediately encountered a strong odor of a chemical substance.
The homeowner quickly ran to a two liter bottle and tried to throw it away, according to the release.
Deputies removed everyone from the residence and found several items known to be used in the process to manufactured methamphetamine.
The juvenile was removed from the residence and released to the custody of Cornelius Police.
Four other males between the ages of 19 and 26 were also removed from the residence.
Crime scene tape was put up around the scene and the SBI Crime Lab was contacted.
A crew has been dispatched to the scene to clean up the meth lab.
Narcotics investigators say two active meth labs were discovered during the incident and also evidence of previous meth labs.
Ashley Nicole Hunsucker, 27, of Stanley, was charged with one felony count each of manufacturing a controlled substance schedule I and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance.
She was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center without bond.
