Hello. This is Christine Nelson sending this quick email from my desk in the newsroom. It's Monday, January 27. Here is a first look at the stories we're covering on WBTV News This Morning from 4:30-7:00 a.m. Make sure you're tuning in, there is a lot of news to cover today.
TODAY: Charlotte officer shooting case
There are big developments that will be happening in the case where Charlotte Mecklenburg Officer Randall Kerrick is accused of voluntary manslaughter in the shooting death of Jonathan Ferrell. A full grand jury is scheduled to hear the case again today to determine whether there is enough evidence to go to trial. But remember, Kerrick's attorneys have filed a motion to block the jury from hearing the case. We have a reporter live with more details on a story we'll be following through the morning.
A shopping mall was terrorized over the weekend. Officials have identified the 19-year-old who brought weapons, including explosives, to the busy mall. Two people died.
