TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Propane sellers say the cold weather has tremendously increased their sales from last year.

Officials at Conger LP Gas in Tifton say sales for them have been up. They say the aortic blast this month has increased sales by more than 20% from last January. They say you should call to fill up your tank as soon as you see it getting low.

"Don't wait until the last minute to call in if you're getting low in your tank. When your tank gets around 30% go ahead and call your supplier so that they will have ample time to schedule a delivery for you," said Dan Richardson.

Richardson says propane prices are up as other companies are experiencing a shortage. His company is not, but he says setting your thermostat to 68 degrees can help you conserve energy.
