CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Two men were arrested in connection to a December robbery after an electronic monitoring device one of the men was wearing placed him at the scene, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

The robbery happened at an ATM on the 9600 block of University City Boulevard. Police say the victim was attempting to withdraw money when two men, later identified as 23-year-old Anthony Lord Byrd and 16-year-old Laderious Lockhart, approached him with a weapon and demanded money.

After receiving the money from the victim, the suspects then left the scene on foot.

Police told WBTV that along with being able to identify both suspects from surveillance footage, an electronic monitor Byrd had previously been ordered to wear placed him at the scene at the time of the robbery.

Byrd and Lockhart were arrested Thursday and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Anyone with additional information concerning this case and or these suspects is asked to call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 704.334.7600.
