Chadwick to take over at Myers Park

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) -

After a year out of coaching, Scott Chadwick is back.  It was announced today that Chadwick will be the new head football coach at Myers Park.

Chadwick was the coach at Marvin Ridge from 2008-2012 and in that time, never had a losing season.  He was 41-20 with the Mavericks and won a conference title in 2009.  MR made it to the state playoffs every season Chadwick was at the helm.

Before going to Marvin Ridge, Chadwick coached at high schools in Georgia and Maryland. While in Maryland, he led 3 teams to state championship games winning the title in 2001.  Chadwick has 15 years of head coaching experience.

He takes over a Myers Park program that went 4-7 last year and missed the playoffs.  Since 2000, the Mustangs have had only 3 years where they were above 500.

Coach Chadwick should have some talent to work with in 2014 in QB Clay Norris, RB Jaquavion Alexander, and WR Jontavious Hall.  It won't be an easy task at Myers Park as they are in one of the toughest conferences in the state in the Southwestern 4A with powers like Butler, Independence, Porter Ridge along with up and coming Rocky River who won a share of the conference title last season.
