LORIS, SC (WMBF) – Horry County Police officers attempted to stop a vehicle after a failed traffic stop Wednesday afternoon, confirmed Lt. Robert Kegler.
The chase began on Highway 905 in the Conway area where officers attempted to stop a car for speeding. After initially pulling off the road, the driver of the car sped away as a police officer approached his car.
According to the police report, the car was driving at speeds over 130 miles per hour.
The chase ended just outside the City of Loris on Market Street when the two men in the car stopped and fled on foot. Police pursued 23-year-old Rydrickco Tymaine Bellamy and 19-year-old Quintus Dante Faison and placed them in handcuffs.
Bellamy is charged with driving under suspension, speeding, fail to stop for blue light, resisting arrest, possession of a other controlled substance and reckless driving.
Faison was the passenger in the car. He is charged with simple possession of marijuana.
