Mixed reaction to no indictment in deadly police officer shooting

Hello there, it's Christine Nelson sending you this email from my desk in the newsroom. Today is Wednesday, January 22. I have a first look just for you of the stories making headlines. WBTV News This Morning is live now. Turn us on for more details!

People are speaking out about the decision by a grand jury not to indict a Charlotte police officer, accused of shooting and killing an unarmed man. You remember the case. The officer is Randall Kerrick. The man who was shot is Jonathan Ferrell. After the decision we talked to Kerrick's defense attorney, Ferrell's family attorney, the AG's office and the NAACP. All of them had something to say about the jury's surprising decision. You'll hear it this morning.

WEATHER ALERT: Mountain counties are getting hit hard with winter weather right now. Here are the school districts that are closed today: Ashe, Avery, Watauga and Yancey County Schools. We'll have a live report from the mountains from WBTV's Kristen Hampton.

Also, the flu problem in North Carolina hasn't gone away. When doctors say you should get vaccinated before it hits the peak!
