Police looking for man wanted in University City car break-in

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Police in Charlotte are asking for the public's help in finding a man wanted in a University City vehicle break-in.

Jimmy Christopher Brookins, 24, has three outstanding warrants for his arrest, according to the news release from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

The incident was reported on Jan. 7 at Sports Fitness University on the 8400 block of N. Tryon Street around 12:19 p.m.

The victim told police that the suspect smashed the car window and took his wallet from inside. 

Based on information and evidence that was gathered during the investigation, investigators were able to identify Brookins as a suspect in this case. 

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Brookins, should immediately call 911 or the Crime Stopper's tip-line at 704-334-1600.
