CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting an investigation regarding a fatal shooting they say could be drug related.

The call for service came in at 6:09 p.m. Monday from a home on the 2400 block of Dundeen Street, in northwest Charlotte.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a male victim, later identified as 46-year-old Keith Graham, inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound.

Graham was transported to Carolinas Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police told WBTV they believe Graham and the shooter knew each other, and that Graham was at the residence, "possibly to conduct a drug transaction."

Several witnesses have been transported to police headquarters to be interviewed, but officials say the investigation is still in its early stages.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit Detective. The public can also call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
